JBossAS Wins Endorsement From IBM FUD Division

I've got to hand it to the folks at Redhat/JBoss.  They've done a stellar job creating an open sourced application server that has taken the world by storm.  So much so that not only have SpringSource and Sun declared war on JBoss but now IBM has entered the fray with a 12-page whitepaper detailing why WebSphere AppServer customers considering a switch to IBM should run screaming into the night in fear.

This is a well-crafted piece of FUD designed to remind management at some of the industries that have long been customers of IBM that you can look but you mustn't ever touch. More than half of the document provides various industry-specific examples of why banks, insurers, and retailers mustn't even think of a switch to The Raleigh Horror for it will not only rob you of your livelihoods but will also damage your souls. Nicely done, IBM, and, again, a tip of the hat to JBoss for the work that they've done.
